My Story
How I got into UX.
I have been practicing Graphic Design for 16 years, and for the most part of my career it has been pretty satisfying, but over the last couple of years, I felt a gap forming. I found myself asking many questions like: why are we doing this, what problems are we truly solving, and what’s the bigger picture, can we get there from here? The answers I got were minimal, unfulfilling, and riddled with gaps, so I searched to find the missing piece and sure enough, user experience design emerged. Through UX, I acquired the tools and processes I needed that satisfied my creative appetite and produced useful, intuitive, meaningful designs that were grounded in user research. Jackpot!
What I can offer.
UX/ UI Designer with 16+ years of Finance experience in a corporate environment practicing Graphic and UX Design with a solid understanding of Design Thinking methods, principles of good design, and specific UI principles across a variety of platforms. I am a recognized digital marketing creative lead with a knack for tackling challenges like problem-solving, seeing the big picture, and collaborative design.
Why me?
I’m curious, I will dig deeper. I’m methodical in my approach. I understand the importance of brand consistency across channels. I have experience in multi-channel touchpoints in the highly regulated finance industry with a wide range of stakeholders with competing interests. Regardless of the situation, I can create a plan of action. Having worked with subject matter experts, I understand the importance of building solid relationships in order to meet the needs of customers and achieve business goals. I am a strategic thinker, all aspects of the design will have meaning and purpose. And last but not least, it is my #1 priority to empathize with my user and place them at the heart of everything I do.
